Dental Implants

January 12th, 2010

Are you aware that 69% of adults ages 35 to 44 have lost at least one permanent tooth to an accident, gum disease, a failed root canal or tooth decay, and by the age 74, 26% of adults have lost all of their permanent teeth. Twenty years ago, there were no other option besides a fixed bridge or removable denture to restore a beautiful smile. Fixed bridges and removable dentures can also bring number of other problems. Dentures can slip, make embarrassing clicking sounds while eating or speaking, they can also lead to bone loss in the area where the teeth are missing. Fixed bridges are hard to clean between the teeth which can cause decay and periodontal (gum) disease.

These are just a few reasons Dr. Sherzoy  prefers  Dental  Implants as tooth replacement versus dentures because they look and feel more natural, you don have to sorry about taking them out to clean, or being cautious about the dentures moving and becoming noticeable to other people.    According to the American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID), dental implants are the ideal option to replacing aging bridges and messy dentures.

The best way to describe a dental implant is to compare it to a real tooth.  A natural tooth consists of a root and a crown.  When you lose a tooth you lose both the root and the crown.  You need a dental implant which is basically a new root to replace both the root and the crown.

Patients come to Dr. Sherzoy for affordable prices to receive the smile you deserve. At Bogota Dental Center, we also offer easy financing options such as CareCredit, this helps most of my patients make their dream smile a reality.
